DSP Engineering Manager, Audio Products, onsite in Oregon or Texas

Job Description

Our client is a well known Global audio company that creates and manufactures awesome audiovisual technology solutions. Due to tremendous growth over the last five years, they are seeking to add a DSP Engineering Manager to their team. This role reports to the VP of Engineering and can be located at Company Headquarters in Beaverton, OR or at their Plano, Texas location.

The main objectives of the DSP team are to provide algorithm design and execution for professional audio products. The successful applicant will be a signal processing subject matter expert with a minimum of 5 years successfully managing technical teams.

Salary range 150-180K

Specific Duties Include

  • Drive corporate continuous improvement in the design, execution, and knowledge of DSP.
  • Recruit, hire and retain staff to achieve the DSP objectives of new products and maintenance projects.
  • Identify and facilitate function and team member development goals.
  • Estimate development timelines.
  • Suggest and propel forward-looking platform and product architecture decisions involving DSP.
  • Collaborate with peer managers on department level improvements.
  • Translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations as required.
  • Support product management and marketing with product information.
  • Support product demonstrations and trade shows.

Required Skills

  • BS degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field. Master’s degree a plus.
  • 5 or more years successfully managing technical teams.
  • Experience delivering algorithms across multiple platforms and operating systems.
  • Strong understanding and experience in DSP algorithms including FFT, FIR, IIR, and adaptive filters.
  • Experience working in multiple levels of programming languages – e.g., MATLAB, C++, C, assembly.
  • Ability to thrive in a needs-first culture.
  • Some domestic and international travel to vendors and trade shows (less than 10%)
  • This is an onsite position, not a remote option.
