Analog IC Design Engineer, Power Electronics, San Jose, CA

Job Description

Our client is a market leader and innovator in energy efficient power conversion with its highly integrated controller ICs and proprietary high voltage Gallium Nitride (GaN) transistor technology.  They are seeking to add an Analog IC Design Engineer to their team. Ideal candidate comes from the field of power electronics. In this position, candidate will be involved in the development of Power Management ICs using Company's proprietary BiCMOS process technology. You will communicate with all levels of the organization. Different levels of experience welcome, multiple openings.

Salary base could be 110K-165K DOE, plus RSU's.

Specific Duties Include

  • Circuit design
  • Simulation
  • Layout supervision
  • Silicon verification
  • Product characterization and documentation.

Required Skills

  • BSEE/MSEE preferred with emphasis on analog IC design Experience.
  • Minimum of 2+ (up to several) years of experience in design of power management ICs.
  • Thorough understanding of basic circuit theory as well as common transistor circuit building blocks (current sources, gain stages, references, etc.).
  • Familiarity with power conversion principles.
  • Understanding of device physics and ability to apply this knowledge to circuit design to optimize the overall circuit performance.
  • Understanding of transistor models and control theory.
  • Working knowledge of Cadence design tools.
