Senior Field Application Engineers (FAE), Wireless, RF, San Jose, hybrid work role

Job Description

Our client is a global leader in wireless charging, with fast, efficient, and highly scalable RF-based charging technology. The company has received FCC certification and has hundreds of patents. Applications range from consumer, medical, military, and industrial devices, as well as many other sectors. They are seeking to add a Senior Field Application Engineer to their growing team in San Jose, CA.

Salary range: 170-190K plus RSU's and benefits

Specific Duties Include

  • Provide front-line engineering and technical marketing support for customers.
  • Support customers through their full product development cycle, including evaluation, design- in, bring-up, debug, FA, quality and issues resolution.
  • Explain and train customers about the product specifications, design requirements, interoperability and functionality, and roadmap alignment to create design-in opportunities.
  • Drive customer visits for technical product presentations, demonstrations, demos, reference boards and application manuals.
  • Provide technical product training for customers and partners.
  • Pro-actively communicate product features and benefits.
  • Stay informed & share information about competitive products and technologies.
  • Conduct Analysis and benchmarking of applications and competitor devices.
  • Develop application knowledge and communicate feedback and insights into customers future needs.
  • Synthesize customer, product positioning, and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps.
  • Compose thorough application notes, data sheet, test setups and reports related to Company competition.
  • Be accountable for design-ins and design-wins with our customers.
  • Build successful relationships with sales, business groups, customers (engineering and management) in support of sales team objectives.
  • Develop application notes, blog posts, technical articles, and other technical sales support material.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master Degree in Engineering
  • 6-10 years of experience.
  • 5 years minimum experience in RF/Microwave electronics application area.
  • Solid Experience with test and measurement products such as spectrum and network analyzers, signal generators, VNAs, digital oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
  • Ability to review block diagram, schematic, layout, test results to trouble shoot issues.
  • Ability to Proactively improve customer relations; Be Responsive, Identify Needs, Monitor Satisfaction.
  • Has Clear vision, sense of urgency, effective prioritization, and adjustment of activities.
  • Utilizes Effective time management, leverage, and resources.
  • Maintains High level of proactive communication, both written and oral.
  • Builds networks, collects and shares wisdom through training/experience.
  • Travel of 10-15%, USA only
